One of the things that drew me to mental health work was realizing how many people struggle with life transitions that the education system never really prepares us for. After seven years in the mental and behavioral health field, I’ve seen how powerful it can be when someone finally understands the connection between their thoughts, emotions and behaviors – and how that understanding can completely change the direction of their life.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of people – adolescents and young adults, veterans, families, individuals on the autism spectrum, returning citizens, abuse survivors, and older adults. Each population has taught me something different about resilience and the unique ways people heal and grow.
My biggest passion lies in working with young people who are transitioning from educational settings to the professional world.
I love providing the tools and insights that help navigate all those factors the school system often leaves out – the real-world skills that make the difference between struggling and succeeding.
I’m also deeply committed to connecting communities and bridging resources as an advocate. I believe in enhancing opportunities that benefit both individual growth and group development because healing often happens in relationships with others.
My approach centers on psycho-education and consciousness raising. I focus on helping people understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors create their reality. Once you have that awareness, you can begin taking responsibility for your mental and emotional space and implement practices that direct your life in the direction you actually want it to go.
Everyone comes to therapy with their own unique experiences and circumstances and I honor that by tailoring my approach to what each person needs to build the awareness and skills necessary for lasting change.
