Damaris Disla, Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern

Damaris Disla is a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern and holds a Masters of Science degree in Psychology with a dual concentration in Mental Health and School Counseling, from Albizu University. She is originally from New York/New Jersey and has lived in South Florida for the past 8 years. She is fluent in Spanish, born to Dominican parents who developed her passion for traveling and cultural diversity.

Damaris has a passion for helping others and offers the opportunity for individuals to evolve into their best selves while establishing a safe and non judgmental space where clients feel free, heard and understood. Her career path has guided her on a journey that includes providing mental and behavioral support to children, adolescents and families in settings such as schools, outpatient clinics, and community organizations in the last 8 years. She has experience counseling clients with, learning disabilities, anxiety, PTSD, substance abuse, behavioral challenges, family conflict, and relationship concerns.

When not at work, Damaris enjoys lifting weights, running, meditating, yoga, traveling, spending time with her son, family and friends, as well as engaging in mindfulness activities.
