For more than 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with people during some of their most vulnerable moments – from at-risk women and adolescents navigating pregnancy and postpartum challenges to men and adolescents working toward rebuilding their lives after incarceration. What I’ve learned through all these experiences is that regardless of someone’s circumstances, most people struggle with the same fundamental challenge: accepting themselves.
My approach combines compassion, sensitivity, empathy and spirituality to connect with each client and support their healing process. I believe that people are the experts in their own lives and my role is to assist them in understanding and managing their emotions while improving satisfaction in their relationships through listening and guidance.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked extensively with at-risk populations, helping women and adolescents during pregnancy and through postpartum who battle depression, risky behaviors and poor support systems.
I’ve also worked within the Department of Corrections, using empowerment-focused tools to help men become the best version of themselves as they prepare to return to society.
What drives my work is my belief in empowerment and the transformative power of self-acceptance. I’ve found that when people learn to accept themselves – with all their imperfections and struggles – they can begin to make meaningful changes in their lives.
My areas of expertise include depression and anxiety, trauma and PTSD, pre and postpartum issues, relationship and family concerns, teen counseling, addiction issues, spirituality, personality concerns, grief and loss, community outreach, crisis intervention, and motivational interviewing and intervention.
